Rui Macedo (b. 1975) is a visual artist based in Lisbon, Portugal.

Recent solo exhibitions include: “Apparatus” (part 2) at MEIAC (Badajoz, 2024), curated by José Alberto Ferreira; “Quodlibet” at Neorealism Museum, curated by David Santos (Vila Franca de Xira, 2024); “Gaps, Fissures, and Other Pretenses” at the Travessa da Ermida Project, curated by João Pinharanda (Lisbon, 2021); “Sfumato” at Tabacalera, curated by Begoña Torres González (Madrid, 2019); “(In) dispensable or the Painting that Troubles the Museum Collection” at the National Museum of Contemporary Art, curated by Emília Ferreira (Lisbon, 2019); “(Land)Scaping Normative Thinking” at the Millennium BCP Foundation, curated by Raquel Henriques da Silva (Lisbon, 2017); and “In Situ: Letter of Intentions” at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Niterói (Brazil, 2015), “Replay” at National Museum of the Republic Cultural Complex (Honestino Guimarães), curated by Caroline Menezes (Brazil, 2014). He holds a PhD in Painting from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, Portugal (2017).
