Rui Macedo (b. 1975) is a visual artist based in Lisbon, Portugal.
Recent solo exhibitions include: “Apparatus” (part 2) at MEIAC (Badajoz, 2024), curated by José Alberto Ferreira; “Quodlibet” at Neorealism Museum, curated by David Santos (Vila Franca de Xira, 2024); “Gaps, Fissures, and Other Pretenses” at the Travessa da Ermida Project, curated by João Pinharanda (Lisbon, 2021); “Sfumato” at Tabacalera, curated by Begoña Torres González (Madrid, 2019); “(In) dispensable or the Painting that Troubles the Museum Collection” at the National Museum of Contemporary Art, curated by Emília Ferreira (Lisbon, 2019); “(Land)Scaping Normative Thinking” at the Millennium BCP Foundation, curated by Raquel Henriques da Silva (Lisbon, 2017); and “In Situ: Letter of Intentions” at the Museum of Contemporary Art of Niterói (Brazil, 2015). He holds a PhD in Painting from FBAUL (2017).
